COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

JY Australia offer a 2.5-day package to help develop our young Indigenous leaders of the future. The forum is led by our team of mentors and training specialists focusing on governance, negotiation techniques and public speaking. We aim to unlock the potential of rural communities’ youth in a semi-formal setting which also focusses on a connection to country. We believe this course is highly beneficial and can motivate and inspire the next generation of Indigenous leaders within Australia. JY Australia’s active participation in assisting regional and remote communities delivers a strong bottom-up approach to closing the gap.

Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly Young & Emerging Leaders Forum

Shane and Owen from JY Australia had the opportunity to facilitate the Young Emerging Leaders Forum (YLF) held by Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly (MPRA) in Cobar, NSW from 09-11 August 2022.

The forum involved 13 participants from regional communities who came together to learn the skills needed to take on lead roles when deciding what direction the future of their nation takes.

The forum focused on increasing knowledge, skills, and qualities in leadership, providing awareness to governance frameworks to encourage participation in local decision-making including CWP, Local Aboriginal Land Councils and the MPRA.

JY Australia’s active participation in assisting regional and remote communities delivers a strong bottom-up approach to closing the gap.
