Daniel was born and raised in Sydney, New South Wales before moving to Canberra to pursue a career as an Australian Army Officer. He joined the JY Australia team in January 2021 as a Project Manager before assuming the role of Operations Manager and promoting into the Head of People and Culture in January 2024.
Daniel’s career experience begun as a Property Manager in Southern Sydney before learning the trade skills of an apprentice plumber. Realising his true calling with the Australian Army, Daniel was accepted into the Royal Military College – Duntroon in January 2013. Daniel’s Army career spans almost 10 years as a Logistics Officer.
Daniel’s military career has seen him serve on Domestic Operations in support of the ADF’s response to COVID-19 as well as conduct key logistics planning for the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and Special Forces activities in 2017. Daniel has also served on International Operations in Fiji conducting Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief in 2016, as well as serving in Afghanistan in 2019, where he conducted Train, Advise, Assist missions in support of the Afghanistan Air Force. Daniel’s military career highlight was being recognised in the Australia Day Honours List 2021 where he received a Commendation for Distinguished Service for distinguished performance in warlike operations in Afghanistan during 2019.
Daniel is a proud veteran who takes pride in his service and seeks to make a valuable contribution to Defence Industry. His demonstrated competence, dedication, and strong interpersonal skills enable him to uphold the rich values and history of JY Australia. As the COO, Daniel provides a critical role within JY Australia, where he orchestrates company operations across Australia, successfully leads and coordinates a team of over 50 employees and ensures JY Australia maintains its position as market leading by delivering optimal results for partners and clients.
Daniel is passionate and committed to ensuring that employees of JY Australia receive adequate support throughout their employment and works diligently to foster a positive and cohesive team environment, which positions JY Australia as an employer of choice across industry.
Daniel’s experience is complemented by a Masters of Business through UNSW and he has his sights on completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course in April 2024.
Daniel currently resides in Sydney with his wife Brittanni and their two sons Kai and Jed. Daniel is a keen golfer and an avid fan of the Cronulla Sharks and Sydney Swans.
