Malachi Murljacic is a proud Kunja (Aboriginal) and Croatian-Australian and experienced First
Nations professional with a background spanning government, not-for-profit, private, Non-Government Organisations (UNDP) and
consulting. His work focuses on supporting First Nations people to navigate complexity, strengthen self-awareness, and lead with clarity, cultural intelligence, and accountability. Malachi began his career in the Australian Public Service, where he spent four years working across policy, program delivery, and stakeholder
engagement in First Nations and Indigenous affairs at NIAA. He later transitioned into the not-for-profit and private sectors, where he held leadership roles, including as a National Manager at a First Nations organisation leading the national partnerships team. In this role, he managed multi-million-dollar corporate and government partnerships and led teams working at the intersection of community, industry, and government.

Alongside his executive leadership experience, Malachi has worked extensively as a youth and First Nations professional mentor and volunteer, supporting young people, emerging leaders and professionals to build confidence, navigate systems, and progress their careers. His mentoring and coaching are informed by lived experience, cultural knowledge, and a strong understanding of organisational and leadership dynamics.

In his personal life, Malachi is an amateur endurance athlete whose journey strongly informs his coaching practice. After overcoming obesity, poor health, substance abuse, and chronic asthma in his younger years, he committed to long-term behavioural change and personal accountability. In June 2025, he became the 21st Aboriginal person to complete a full-distance Ironman (3.8km swim, 180km bike ride, 42.2km run), followed by completing a 57km Trail Ultra Marathon three
months later. These experiences shape his perspective on resilience, identity, discipline, and sustained performance over time.
